Well as some know I have a couple of weeks using Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex and a few days ago I started having problems with "Network Manager" which is the default network manager of Ubuntu, and after navigating a I recently decided to install Wicd promises to be a much better manager.
The installation was very simple, you just have to add to sources.list either from synaptic or from the console the following repository: deb
http://apt.wicd.net
intrepid extras Then you need to add the key to trusted keyring by typing the following:
sudo wget-q http://apt.wicd.net/wicd.gpg -O - by default and my WEP encryption is so select the first "WEP (Hex)" and ready, connect right away, auqnue are more options as one that says WEP Passphrase and Shared / Restricted I have no idea what they're for, but look into it later.
