La projection désigne un mécanisme de défense introduit par Freud dans le langage de la psychanalyse .
Le terme est devenu très général en psychologie et en psychiatrie . It refers to the mental operation (usually unconscious) by which a person places on someone his own feelings in order to escape a situation emotional experienced as intolerable by her. The person is generally unaware of applying this mechanism, precisely because it does not accept the feelings or sensations, she "plans" on the other. It is therefore generally negative feelings, or at least, perceived as such.
The projection may also occur in cases of psychosis paranoid (paranoia) or schizophrenia (hallucinations, delusions). The "inner language" of the patient is identified by it as a "voice" coming from outside, outside himself. This is a psychotic mechanism to implement an primary process.
projection in Freud
Throughout the theoretical construct of this concept, Freud began the term projection to describe a process seen in several psychiatric disorders (paranoia), but also in the normal functioning neurotic.
First used to describe delirium paranoid projection was explained in terms pathological neurotic ( phobia), but also normal (the phenomenon of superstition ; projective jealousy). Finally
Freud recognized the projection an important role in the transfer .
In the analysis he offers the writings of Daniel Paul Schreber , Freud indicates three time defensive mechanism of projective paranoid psychosis:
It is based on the Schreber case a sense of nature homosexual:
- but I like that thought is unbearable for a man how to love? I hate
- because it brings me to experience this feeling unacceptable. But this hostility is proven wrong.
- So he persecutes me and because he has subjected me to such suffering, then I hate him.
